To the girl who lost her mother…I see you.
To the girl who wants to be a mother but has been battling infertility…I see you.
To the girl whose heart is full because you have your babies in your arms…I see you.
Last, but certainly not least…
To the girl who is missing a baby/child in your arms…I see you.
Mama, I see you hurting. I see your broken heart. I see you longing to hold your baby again in your arms. I feel the pain too, my friend. Since Jesus is holding your baby until you can again, why don’t you let Jesus hold you too. Let Him cradle you in His arms while you pour your heart out. His grace and mercy is so gentle. His love is so comforting.
Mother’s Day is bittersweet. Warm and joyful memories flood my mind of past days when I had both my boys in my arms. This picture below was taken 2 months before Bennett passed when I was completely exhausted from nursing a newborn and having a wild young boy. You can see the fatigue on my face, but let me tell you my friend my heart and arms were so incredibly full.

What a wonderful moment in time that will never be again. Savor each day and tuck those memories in the back of your mind because you never know when that will be the only thing you have left. My hope for you on this Mother’s Day is you try to find something positive in it. For me, I am enjoying spending time and making memories with my Hudson and family. The sting of death and Bennett’s absence is present. It’s unavoidable. If you are missing a child this year on Mother’s Day, I hope you know that you are not alone. This life is hard. You can and will make it through this Mother’s Day weekend and every day after.
No matter what season of life you are in right now just know that not only do I see you, but more importantly Jesus see’s you.
Let Him be the light in your darkness,
Rebecca
